How to set up a MOOC

I've been reading a lot about how to become a better educator, and I've come across two different schools of thought.  First, you see something similar to the "Great Man" strategy in leadership, which says that good teachers are born not made.  Second, you see people who think that teachers get better over time.  I think one of the key elements here is that people are missing the fact that teaching really is about a relationship.  Relationships are key, and if someone is particularly attractive in building relationships (professional ones), then they will be able to maintain attention, retain information, and foster creative thinking.  This is the key!
So, MOOCs should be set up in a way that capitolize on the strengths of the teacher.
